Sam Squirrel's Information Page 28

Pigeon We are lucky that the Family put the water out for us. It is a pity that they don't give us a bigger bath though.

Sam was talking about temperature and this is usually quoted in either FAHRENHEIT or CENTIGRADE (or CELSIUS)

The FAHRENHEIT scale was developed by a German called Fahrenheit and the CENTIGRADE scale was developed by a Swede called Celsius

Thermometer
Name of Scale
Freezing point of water
Boiling point of water
Fahrenheit
32° F
212° F
Centigrade
0° C
100° C

Working it out The weather people will often give both sets of numbers but you can convert from one scale to the other.

CENTIGRADE  =   (FAHRENHEIT - 32 )
then multiply by 5
then divide by 9

FAHRENHEIT  =   CENTIGRADE multiplied by 9
then divide by 5
then add 32

The temperature here last week was 29° C or 84.2° F, so you can tell it was very hot.

See you again.
